About Shoshana
I was born in South Africa during Apartheid, and from an early age, I loved reading and writing. My professional life began at the Johannesburg College of Education where I taught literature and developed communication courses. I taught Black students despite the discriminatory laws that made such teaching illegal. Apartheid’s interracial dynamics led me to psychology.
After arriving in California, I became a psychotherapist specializing in food and weight issues and was certified in hypnotherapy. I taught at John F. Kennedy University and facilitated workshops and retreats in the community.
Later, I returned to my first love, literature, with renewed energy. I wrote self‑help books and collections of short stories and poetry. Teaching memoir writing to adults became another way for people to uncover their true selves. I also became a Reiki Master, started a regular meditation and mindfulness routine, and learned to create ceramic figures.
Today, I bring all these threads together. As a wellness coach, I work with women in their later years, incorporating methods, skills, and resources from my trainings and experience. With Reiki, I offer energy healing.
Throughout every chapter of my life, my mission has remained the same: To help people feel more at home in themselves, connected to meaning, and empowered to experience their time on our earth with greater joy.
